Network stabilization

Medical Spectrum Twente is among the largest non-academic hospitals in the Netherlands. Continuity in patient treatments and in the mutation of patient records is expressly linked to the degree of functioning of the IT network. Regular malfunctions, requiring operations to be halted or even postponed, have prompted a network audit by One Zero IT.

The result

One Zero IT’s independent network audit quickly and accurately identified the core of the disruptions at MST. Based on this, a clear recommendation was drawn up with concrete findings and recommendations. This gave MST immediate insight into the cause of the problems and the next steps needed to fix it.

The result: a concrete 7-point plan, worked out in a well-organized project. The proposed measures have been implemented, resulting in a more stable network. To also ensure this stability structurally, all routers and switches within the network are being assessed and equalized in a major software change.

The approach

The assessment begins with the translation of the human customer demand. We do this by listening especially well. Then we decompose the question into clear components. In this case, we focused on:

• Inventory of the entire network on its configuration;
• ‘As-is’ set off against the formatted network design;
• Inventory where errors occur and problems come from;
• Inventory current state of service delivery;
• Independent inventory service external partner;
• Inventory procurement, contract, terms and conditions and SLA external partner.

Repetitive tasks we automated. With the goal of saving time and a clearer focus on making the network issues understandable and manageable.

To continue to ensure the continuity and stability of the network, knowledge partner ncubed has been engaged to provide MST’s full network services. By analyzing all network equipment and setting up a smart lifecycle program, hardware is used sustainably. This ensures efficiency and cost savings.

One Zero IT’s team for this project consisted of 4 consultants: a Project Manager/Architect, two Sr. Network DevOps Engineers and a Mdr. Network Automation Developer.
